The Process

Assessment and Planning

The first step is a thorough assessment of the existing water line system. Our team will inspect the site, identify the problem areas, and determine the best approach for installation or replacement using trenchless methods. They will also consider factors such as the depth, length, and condition of the existing water line.
Preparation

Before the installation process begins, any necessary preparations are made. This may involve shutting off the water supply to the affected area and clearing the work area of obstacles or debris. Access points, such as small pits or entry points, are strategically created at the beginning and end of the water line to facilitate the trenchless installation process.
Pipe Insertion

Trenchless methods typically involve the use of specialized equipment, such as a pneumatic pipe bursting system or a hydraulic directional drilling machine. With pipe bursting, a new, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) pipe is attached to a bursting head and inserted into the existing water line. As the bursting head progresses through the old pipe, it fractures the existing pipe, pushing it into the surrounding soil while simultaneously pulling the new pipe into place.
Directional Drilling

Directional drilling, also known as HDD (horizontal directional drilling), is used to bore underground to create a pathway to pull a new waterline from the house to the curb stop to eliminate disturbing the surface above or when trenching is not possible or practical. This method is more environmentally friendly and cost-effective than traditional methods.
Connection and Testing

Once the new pipe is in place, the professional plumbers will make the necessary connections, including attaching it to the main water supply and ensuring proper alignment and sealing. They will perform thorough testing to ensure that the new water line is functioning correctly, with no leaks or issues.
Site Restoration

After the installation or replacement is complete, the work area is restored. Any pits or access points are filled, and the surrounding landscape is reinstated to its original condition.
